Norwich City striker Josh Sargent is attracting serious Premier League interest, SportsBoom have been told.
The USA international is the third highest scorer in the Championship this term with 13 strikes, behind Canaries’ team-mate Borja Sainz (16) and Leeds United’s Joel Piroe (15).
Sargent, 25, has been one of the bright sparks in an otherwise disappointing campaign in Norfolk.
Johannes Hoff Thorup’s side are five points off the play-off pace with seven games to go.
And a number of Premier League clubs are keeping tabs on Norwich’s progress this season and are ready to pounce if they fail in their promotion bid.
Everton and Nottingham Forest are both keen to take the striker back to the top flight as they look to bolster their respective options up front.
Sargent joined the Canaries from German club Werder Bremen in 2021, for a fee in the region of £8million, back when the club were still in the Premier League.
The striker signed a contract extension to keep him in Norwich yellow until 2028.
But former Canaries’ boss Daniel Farke wants a reunion with the striker, who has scored 44 league goals in 117 appearances since moving to Carrow Road.
Farke was the man who signed Sargent when he moved to England and wants to lure the American forward to Elland Road.
'HAPPY' IN NORFOLK
Sargent has admitted he will have a “decision to make” come the end of the season, but stressed he is not definitely leaving the club despite interest in him from multiple parties.
He said: “I have a contract here at Norwich. I'm very happy, my family is very happy here so it's no way saying I'm gone."
"I'm very happy with the manager and the team. I was just trying to say there will be options but that's not to say I'm definitely leaving - that's a decision for my family and me to make and obviously the club has to agree to me leaving in the first place.”
